Founded in Berlin, the fem*ergy collective, brings together the worlds of international artists and activists, serving as a platform for collaborations within an ever evolving network.

These artists, each expressing themselves in their unique languages, share their messages and narratives, the realities of marginalised identities, but also poetic visions of joy and healing in a utopian microcosm.

The fem*ergy collective is a community of values based on respect, sustainability, solidarity, inclusivity, empowerment, fairness, cohesion, empathy, mindfulness and vulnerability. Based in the founding city of Berlin as well as Switzerland, the artists of the fem*ergy collective create song arrangements, shows, concert tours and other projects together.

The fem*ergy collective focuses on the visibility of female and non-binary artists while creating a positive, safer space where all are welcome and respected.

The work of the collective started in autumn 2021, originating in the idea of sharing stages, organisational efforts and visibility which led to building a permanent collective to support each other with individual skills and networks.

Declaring the new normal!

The new normal, as it is cultivated in the fem*ergy collective, is diversity as a matter of course, which is not oriented towards standards or majorities, but meets every identity with appreciation and takes a stand against exoticisation, othering, as well as discrimination based on racist, patriarchal, classist or ableist world views. In open, loving communication, cooperation at eye level, the commitment to goal-oriented professionalism and the sustainable use of resources as well as the mental and physical health of each individual person are balanced. This creates a safer space in which continuous growth and learning is cultivated. From this space poetry, healing, emotional processes that are coming together in interdisciplinary works and audio-visual worlds.

What else:

Contrary to the prevailing binary mentality based on dominance, hierarchies and incompatibility of opposites, the work of the fem*ergy collective is expressed, among other things, in balancing the qualities and energies designated as feminine, as well as those designated as masculine, that operate in the world and in all of us, and in honouring every expression on the spectrum between these poles. Inclusivity does not stop at the language used, but is expressed in it. In this context, there needs to be an awareness that a healthy culture of error and patience are indispensable in order to meet these aspirations in the long run.

In the knowledge that such work will never be completed, it is necessary to question these constantly ongoing processes and to accept their changeability. The fem*ergy collective functions as a creative hub and network in the context of which FINTA people are invited to find collaborations, visibility and access to resources. The driving force behind all joint projects is always the creativity and joy experienced together.

Sustainability, the connection to nature as the origin of all existence, respect for the magic inherent in all life and the desire to preserve these wonders for future generations are of particular importance to all those involved. Green touring, as well as the association with structures that prioritise ecological, social and economic sustainability, is therefore an important concern for the fem*ergy collective.
